Political Science

PhD defence ceremony

During the late 1980s and early 1990s, the television sector in Western Europe was liberalised. Bouchra Arbaoui investigates the aggregate level changes in television systems after the large-scale introduction of commercial television in the 1980s through a comparative study of 17 Western-European media systems. Arbaoui also explores the way media systems have changed along both dimensions and analyses the relevance of advertising dependency and audience fragmentation for political communication.
