Line Rennwald holds an ‘Early Postdoc.Mobility’ fellowship from the Swiss National Science Foundation. In this framework, she is currently conducting a research stay at the University of Amsterdam. She is also an external collaborator at the Department of political science and international relations of the University of Geneva. She obtained her PhD in political science from the University of Geneva in November 2013.
Her research interests lie in the areas of political sociology and comparative politics, particularly focusing on the class cleavage. She is currently preparing a book on the evolution of working class electoral support for social democratic parties, with the aim of explaining the dynamics of party-voters alignments. In this respect, she is especially interested in the role of unionization on class voting.
Previously, she worked as a teaching assistant and then lecturer at the Department of political science and international relations of the University of Geneva. In the academic year 2013-2014, she was also scientific coordinator of the CUSO Doctoral Programme in Political Science. In 2012, she was junior visiting scholar at Nuffield College, Oxford.
