Biography
I'm an assistant professor ('universitair docent') in the Department of Political Science at the University of Amsterdam. Previously, I was a post-doctoral researcher in the same department and a Max Weber Fellow at the European University Institute in Florence, Italy. I completed my undergraduate studies at the University of Leiden (2005) and received my MPhil (2007) and PhD (2010) from Nuffield College, University of Oxford.
In 2013 I received a grant from NWO (Netherlands Organization for Scientific Research) for a research project on the effects of public opinion on political outcomes (see here, in Dutch).
