SPR Early Career Award for Heleen Slagter

Dr Heleen A. Slagter is to be presented with the 2014 Early Career Award from the Society for Psychophysiological Research. Slagter is receiving this prestigious award for her outstanding work on the brain mechanisms that underlie attention and cognitive plasticity.

Heleen Slagter will be handed with the award in Atlanta, USA during the annual conference of the Society for Psychophysiological Research (SPR), to be held 10 - 14 September 2014, where she will present a précis of her research that is to be published in the international journal of the SPR, Psychophysiology.  

In 2010 Slagter was awarded a Vidi grant from the Netherlands Organisation for Scientific Research (NWO). The award allowed her to study how the training of specific cognitive skills changes brain function and may improve cognitive abilities.
