UvA Psychology research best in Netherlands

Psychology research at the University of Amsterdam (UvA) is the best in the Netherlands. These are the findings of a report by the review committee of Quality Assurance Netherlands Universities (QANU) for the period 2005-2010.

The UvA received the highest average score of all Dutch universities in the QANU's Psychology Research Assessment 2012 with 4.65 on a scale of 1 (unsatisfactory) to 5  (excellent). Approximately 75% of all scores awarded to the UvA were between 4.5 and 5. 

The assessment criteria for the report are:

  • Quality
  • Productivity
  • Relevance (social, economic and cultural relevance)
  • Vitality and feasibility.

 

Gerard Kerkhof, director of the Psychology Research Institute of the UvA and director of the University research priority area Brain & Cognition programme is proud of 'his' researchers, saying 'We strive not only for excellence, but also to show that we are extremely good at what we do'.
