Bio
I am a psychologist working at the Brain en Cognition department (Psychology) and d'Arc research group (Dutch Autism & ADHD Research Center) of the University of Amsterdam. In 2011, I started working as a PhD student on the project “Aging in Autism: a Double Jeopardy?” with Hilde M. Geurts. Before I began this project, I studied neuropsychology and mind sciences at the University of Turin (Italy) and I conducted research for my thesis at the University of Birmingham (United Kingdom). During my internships, I worked with elderly and patients with brain damage.
In my PhD project, I compare a group of people aged 20 to 75 years with autism, Asperger syndrome and PDD-NOS to a group of people without autism. My focus is on differences and similarities in comorbidity and cognition. Moreover, I would like to determine how the observed symptoms are related to age.
