Biographical Profile

Arne Evers obtained his masters in 1971 in Work Psychology at the University of Amsterdam . Following, he worked for two years on a dissertation grant on the construction and validation of a vocational interest inventory. In 1973 he took for 12 years the position of research manager at the Institute of Social and Industrial Psychology of the University of Amsterdam . After changing in 1985 to the Unit of Work and Organizational Psychology, he finished his dissertation in 1987. Since 1975 Arne Evers is the representative of the Department of Psychology of the University of Amsterdam in the Dutch Committee on Testing, which he chaired from 1987 to 1993. In 1996 he was appointed as the Dutch representative in the International Test Commission and in 1998 he became a member of the Task Force on Test and Testing of the European Federation of Psychologists' Associations.

Research Interests

Arne has specialized in topics that have to do with test use and test quality, and with test construction in the field of work and organizational psychology. Related fields of interest are fairness issues in personnel selection and research on work stress.
