Society for Romanian Studies Graduate Student Essay Prize for 2017 goes to Dana Muresan
The Ninth Annual SRS Graduate Student Essay Prize is awarded to the most outstanding unpublished essay or thesis chapter written in English by a graduate student in any social science or humanities discipline on a Romanian subject during the long academic year 2016–17.
European Studies student Dana Muresan has won the Society for Romanian Studies Graduate Student Essay Prize for 2017 for a chapter of her MA thesis entitled 'Constantin Brancusi: the Construction of a National Hero'. Muresan's essay was selected from over twenty submissions from universities in Europe, Asia and North America.
The prize, which carries a cash award of 300USD, will be formally presented at the Annual Convention of the Association for Slavic, East European and Eurasian Studies in Chicago in November.
