Approved qualifications for BSc Economics and Business

Please note that Mathematics and English (comparable to the Dutch VWO exam*) should be part of the final secondary education exams and completed with a sufficient grade.

  • European Baccalaureate
  • International Baccalaureate: diploma or official record from the International Baccalaureate Office in Geneva > 24 points and mathematics at SL or HL (mathematical studies is not accepted)
  • Australia: secondary school diploma with good grades and a suitable study programme of sufficient level or 1-2 year (s) of university/college education
  • Austria: Reifezeugnis/Reifeprüfungszeugnis
  • Belgium: Diploma van Secundair Onderwijs/ Certificat de l'Enseignement Secondaire Supérieure
  • Bosnia-Herzegovina: secondary school diploma with a suitable study programme of sufficient level or 1 year of full-time university/college education
  • Brasil: secondary school diploma with a suitable study programme of sufficient level and 1 year of full-time university/college education
  • Bulgaria: secondary school diploma with a suitable study programme of sufficient level or 1 year of full-time university/college education
  • Canada, Ontario: Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) with 6 university preparation courses or Ontario Academic Courses (OAC's)
  • Canada, Quebec: Diplôme d'Etudes Collégiales (DEC) préuniversitaire
  • Canada, other places: High School Diploma with good grades and a suitable study programme of sufficient level or 1-2 year(s) of university/college education
  • China: Gaozhong or Zhongdeng zhuanye xuexiao + Gaokao + 1 year when university is part of the Project 211. 1 year university at a non-Project 211 university -> a transcript of the first semester with a minimum GPA of 80%.
  • Croatia: secondary school diploma with a suitable study programme of sufficient level or 1 year of full-time university/college education
  • Czech Republic: Vysvedceni O Maturitni Zkousce provided curriculum prepares for university education and is not vocational
  • Denmark: Bevis for Studentereksamen or Bevis for Højere Forberedelseseksamen
  • England: 5 GCSEs (grades A-C) + 3 GCE A2s (grades A-C) (These must include Maths or Physics) 
  • Estonia: Gümnaasiumi  lõputunnistus
  • Finland: Ylioppilastuskintotodistus
  • France: Baccalauréat Général or Baccalauréat Technologique
  • Germany: Zeugnis der Allgemeinen Hochschulreife
  • Greece: Apolytirio Eniaiou Lykeiou with a mean score of at least 10
  • Hungary: Gimnáziumi Érettségi Bizonyítvány 
  • Iceland: Studentprof of the Mentaskoli
  • India: Standard XII diploma (academic stream): All Indian Senior School Certificate (with marks ranging A (A1,2) or B (B1) in 5 subjects; Indian School Certificate with an average >75% in 5 subjects or in case of lower results with 1 year of full-time university/college education

  • Indonesia: Sekolah Menengah Umum Tingkat Atas + 2 years of university/college education
  • Ireland: Leaving certificate with at least 6 subjects: at least 2 subjects with grade C on higher level
  • Israel: Te'ûdat Bagrut > 20 points and 4 to 5 credits for English and Mathematics
  • Italy: Diploma di Superamento dell'esame di Stato conclusivo
  • Japan: 2 years of university/college education
  • Korea: secondary school diploma with a suitable study programme of sufficient level and university entrance exam: College Scholastic Aptitude Test.
  • Latvia: Atestas pas visparejo videjo izglitibu
  • Lithuania: Brandos atestatos
  • Luxemburg: Diplôme de fin d'études secondaires
  • Macedonia: secondary school diploma with a suitable study programme of sufficient level or 1 year of full-time university/college education
  • Mexico: secondary school diploma, Bachiller, with a suitable study programme of sufficient level and 1 year of full-time university/college education or EXANI II
  • Morocco: Baccalauréat + attestation de réussite from the first year in the same study or from the second year of the first cycle for other studies
  • Moldavia: secondary school diploma with a suitable study programme of sufficient level or 1 year of full-time university/college education
  • New Zealand: University entrance examination of the UEB with credits of 4 courses
  • Norway: Vitnemal fra den vidergaende skolen
  • Poland: Swiadectwo Dojrzalosci Liceum Ogolnoksztalcacego
  • Portugal: Exames Nacionais do Ensino Secundário with a minimum score of 95
  • Romania: Diploma de Bacalaureat, dated after 2005
  • Russia: secondary school diploma with a suitable study programme of sufficient level and 1 year of full-time university/college education. Or an Attestat o Srednem (Polnom) Obshchem Obrazovanii (Certificate of Secondary Complete General Education) >80% or EGE.
  • Scotland: SCE + 5 higher grades or Certificate of Sixth Year Studies (CSYS)
  • Serbia: secondary school diploma with a suitable study programme of sufficient level or 1 year of full-time university/college education
  • Slovakia: Vysvedceni O Maturitni Skusku provided curriculum prepares for university education and is not vocational
  • Slovenia: Matura
  • South Africa: Senior Certificate/Senoir Sertifikaat with 5 higher grades
  • Spain: Título de Bachiller and proof of admission to a university in Spain
  • Surinam: VWO-diploma
  • Sweden: Slutbetyg gymnasieskolan
  • Switzerland: Maturitätszeugnis / Certificat de Maturité / Attesto di Maturità
  • Taiwan: 2 years of university/college education
  • Turkey: Lise Diplomasi + 1 year of university education
  • Ukraine: secondary school diploma with a suitable study programme of sufficient level or 1 year of full-time university/college education
  • USA: High school with at least 4 AP's (Advanced Placement) with grade 3-5 or 1-2 year(s) of college
