Accreditations & rankings
A business school’s accreditations form an important indicator of the quality of the school and its programmes. We can proudly report that the Amsterdam Business School is accredited by EQUIS, the world’s leading accreditation for business schools, and our MBA programme is accredited by the Dutch-Flemish accreditation body NVAO.
We are also very proud that the University of Amsterdam (UvA), the Amsterdam Business School (ABS), and the Amsterdam MBA programme all rank among the best in the world.
- The QS World Ranking 2014/2015 lists the University of Amsterdam #50 in the world and #1 in the Netherlands.
- In the 2014 Times Higher Education ranking, the University of Amsterdam is listed in the group 71-80 universities with the best reputations worldwide. > Read more
- The University of Amsterdam is the highest-ranking educational institution in the Incompany500, an annual survey on the appeal and reputation of a broad range of organisations. > Read more
- In 2014, the UvA is listed in the 101-150 group in the worldwide top 500 Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU; also known as the Shanghai Ranking) which is a global ranking published annually by the Shanghai Jiao Tong University.
- The Amsterdam Business School is ranked among the 'Elite Regional' business schools and #42 in Europe by QS in their TopMBA Global 200 Business Schools Report 2014/2015 up four spots from 2013.
- The Amsterdam MBA programme is currently ranked #19 in Western Europe by the latest Eduniversal Best Masters Ranking 2014/2015. Up six spots from last year (and eleven spots since 2012).
Finally, there is the city of Amsterdam itself!
- The Mercer Quality of Living Survey lists Amsterdam as one of the world's 15 best places to live. In 2014, Amsterdam ranks 11th, just one place outside the top 10.
- The European Cities Monitor lists Amsterdam as Europe’s 6th most attractive city to locate a business.
- 96% of the students in Amsterdam polled reported that Amsterdam was “the place to be”, according to the pan-European International student barometer.
