MIF Fulltime student 2013-2014: Rajiv Bajoria
'The career services at ABS – MIF office has helped me on several occasions. They organized many workshops on interview skills, resume, negotiation, immigration issues etc. Kristina also arranged individual sessions with every student to understand their skills and motivation, so as to identify the strengths, weakness and opportunities. She helped me to prepare for interviews and gave critical feedback to improve on my weak points. She is a highly dynamic person who goes the extra mile to connect with the alumni and other industry professionals to help the students with career advice and internship opportunities. She was instrumental in helping me find an internship I was looking for and I can’t wait to start my career in the investment research sector! I would highly recommend every student to take advantage of the career services at ABS'.
MIF Fulltime student 2013-2014: Cindy Xiong Ying
'I have benefited a lot from the career services of Amsterdam Business School-MIF. Through various career service workshops, several mock interviews and career fairs organized by ABS, I was able to improve my CV, realize my weaknesses and also meet many employers on a more personal level. In addition, Kristina also helped us to find our one-to-one career development mentors who are currently working in the finance field, so that we can get tangible career advises. Under the help of the career service of ABS, I have got several interviews and I have been continuously improving myself'.
MIF Fulltime student 2013-2014: Hanjun Chen
'I have joined the full-time MIF program in 2013 to enhance the knowledge, and at meanwhile to look for a career opportunity in financial industry. With the help from career service center, I got the job offer in the capital market team of PwC Nederlands before accomplishing the program.
The MIF career center arranged various activities and events throughout the year, which I think were insightful and supportive. The career workshops in the first semester were structured to help students identify career objectives and understand the strengths. Later, the focus was given to the skills and strategies needed for job hunting. I attended most of the workshops, such as professional networking skills, employment contract and negotiations. I find them enlightening and practical.
Taking advantage of the small class scale, career center provided one-to-one coaching to students with different level of working experience. The speed interview training was impressive, as I got the opportunity to talk with five experienced recruiters and received their substantive feedback on how to standout in a real interview. Moreover, Kristina, a passionate career expertise, scheduled a mock interview session before my interview with PwC. She gave me tangible advice and helped me to overcome what has been holding me back.
In addition, I benefit from MIF’s strong network with alumni and leading organizations in the financial industry. Career center organized several company presentations and job fair, in which I can discover the career opportunity with the companies face-to-face and in depth. Actually, I learned the info of my current job from one of the company presentations.
I would like to take the opportunity to thank for the effort of career center. I believe that MIF students will benefit the most from their experience, professionalism and network resource'.
