The Careers Office provides various workshops and events for both our full-time and part-time MBA students throughout the year. We invite external trainers, recruiters and hiring managers to assist us with providing our students the best knowledge and training on each careers-related topic. In-house days, Company presentations and the Careers Fair
In-house days and company presentations will be organised during the academic year. The in-house visits will be taking place at the company itself and will provide you with the opportunity to learn more about the company's corporate culture and to meet their employees and hiring managers. These visits usually include several presentation by different departments, and conclude with lunch and/or drinks. In the 2014/2015 academic year we visited Rabobank, Huawei, Avanade, Booking.com, BrandGym, ING Trading Floor and TomTom.
The company presentations will take place at Amsterdam Business School. During the presentation you will learn more about the company, its culture and job/internship opportunities and you will have a direct chance to connect with the company representatives in regards to future career opportunities.
Careers Fair
The MBA Careers Fair takes place each year in April and provides MBA students and alumni with a range of opportunities to speak with recruiters, HR professionals and hiring managers from corporate companies and recruitment agencies. The 2014/2015 Careers Fair will be taking place on 10 April 2015 at Amsterdam Business School. Furthermore, MBA students will be also be invited to the International talent day organised by UvA Career Center and Career Days, organised by student association SEFA.
Speed Interview Training
'The speed interviewing event was a good opportunity to simulate and practice the communication skills required during a real interview. The restricted time available exercises your ability to deliver a short and to the point pitch about yourself. While the various interviewer's backgrounds and experiences result in useful feedback and suggestions from their professional point of view. Effective Networking on LinkedIn
'The LinkedIn workshop provided us with the tools and capabilities to develop a page for ourselves that would help our skills stand out among the thousands of others that are currently utilizing LinkedIn. After the workshop I took the time to update my page and applied the tips we were provided and as a result my LinkedIn page received an increased number of views from recruiters and organizations that were searching for candidates with my experience.
