The project involves exploration and analysis of a relevant, real-world business issue, identified and developed together with the contact person inside the organization, and under the supervision of a faculty member assigned by the Amsterdam MBA programme. Examples of project topics might be: 

• Relationship-based factors that influence the performance of an international joint venture
• Contributors to new product success for high-tech markets
• Unifying brand identity: Lessons from an NGO
• Managing change in an SME: knowledge management and process improvement
• How does operational process design matter for success in service quality delivery?
• Reducing risks and security threats in the use of 3PL providers in the oil and gas sector
• Impact of innovation technology on intellectual property in the music industry 

Finding an organization 

Finding an organization in which to conduct the project is the student’s responsibility. In the greater Amsterdam metropolitan area, however, the pool of potential targets is large. The only requirement is that the organization is relevant to the field of management. This could be a globally operating MNE, or to an SME focused on the local market. Similarly, it could refer to a family-owned firm, a government agency, or a non-profit organization. The organization may even be situated outside the Netherlands.

Alumni, the Careers Office, and even faculty members can also be helpful in finding a project. Students in the part-time programme typically conduct their final project within the setting of their employer’s organization or industry. Students in the full-time programme often combine their project with a summer internship.
