Prof. Dr. Allan Hodgson 

Prof. Allan Hodgson is dean at the Universiteit van Amsterdam Business School. He arrives with a diverse background career in both academia and business. He previously worked in the construction industry, the Australian civil service in the Departments of Foreign Affairs and Finance, and was GM of the Universities Credit Society in Canberra. In academia, he gained his PhD from the Australian National University in the financial economics of derivative markets and taught accounting theory and finance at that institution.

More recently he was at Griffith University in Brisbane as the National Australia Bank Foundation Chair in Banking, Finance and Risk Management. He taught in the areas of accounting theory, derivatives and bank management; later serving as Dean of the Faculty and Chair of the Accounting Department. Professor Hodgson has held visiting positions at Manchester, Glasgow and Strathclyde Universities in the UK, and Santa Clara and Clarkson Universities in the USA. Allan's research interests are the areas of accounting theory, banking, insider trading, intangible valuation (especially in marketing), risk management and the impact of accounting information on stock markets.
