Innovation is an ongoing process, always in motion and it will awake your creativity!

Kim Durieux, Business Administration: Entrepreneurship and Innovation

‘I decided to apply for the Entrepreneurship and Innovation track because there were two aspects that I found really appealing. First of all, innovation triggers! It is an ongoing process, always in motion and it will awaken your creativity. It will create endless challenges and I fully believe that an individual is most valuable when exposed to challenges. Second, the UvA maintains an approach that is scientific and practical at the same time.

The lecturers manage to actively involve us and to get us truly interested in the topics. The (well-structured) courses brought me new insights, being based on interesting literature while encouraging us to stay critical and try to discover the gaps and ask questions that hadn’t been asked before. Also, several entrepreneurs gave guest lectures and told inspiring personal stories. The Friday afternoon guest lectures in Royal theatre Carré gave us amazing sneak peeks into actual business life, with interesting stories of today’s leading CEOs.

Amsterdam is amazing! It offers a dynamic environment full of young creative individuals and companies. I love the many sustainable and socially responsible initiatives - not only necessary but super creative and sometimes so seemingly simple. New initiatives, companies and concepts are created every day and I very much enjoy this energy. I am currently doing an internship at STBY, a service design research company. I am so enthusiastic about the service design approach, that I aim to find a job in this area!’
