Lecturer in Entertainment Communication

'Today’s young people are growing up in a world saturated by media. Referred to as digital natives, they speak the digital language of computers, mobile technology, and video games more fluently than anyone else. And this has not gone unnoticed. Commercial and nonprofit companies, government and educational institutions, and the general public are asking questions about entertainment media. What media are popular and why? How do I create appealing media? Do media affect us, and if so, how?

In the track Entertainment Communication, you will be given the tools to answer these questions. You will learn what communication science tells us about media preference and effects and you will be challenged to think about the current debates surrounding entertainment media. The track balances theoretical knowledge with practical exercises to ensure that you not only know the science, but also how to use it. By graduation, you will be an expert in entertainment media, poised to investigate and advise in this broad and dynamic field.'
