Faculty of Economics and Business

The Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) was established in 1922, starting with 111 students. It now has around 5,000 students of which nearly 700 are international students. Internationalisation is a keyword at the FEB. The staff, student body, degree programmes and research all have a strong international focus.

The modern faculty building is situated in the so-called Roeterseiland (island) area. This lively area in the eastern part of the city center is surrounded by water and can easily be reached by public transport. In its surroundings there are numerous trendy bars and fancy restaurants and some famous spots like the Amsterdam zoo and the Tropenmuseum. For study-related matters you can refer to a large bookstore and a copyshop.

Computer facilities

The faculty owns a large computerroom with 250 computers accessible for students of the UvA. This facility that is totally generated by wind and solar energy was opened by the Minister for the Environment in 2009. All students get their own free e-mail account. The account is used for all study-related communication. Wireless internet connection is available in the faculty buildings.

Library

The faculty is provided with a large library with two floors. The library offers many possibilities to study or to read in a quiet surrounding. Students have also access to the main university library and six other faculty libraries that are located on different locations in the city centre. The UvA's extensive digital collection is accessible for students through the library's website and from your home PC.

Restaurant and bar

The large faculty's restaurant offers a wide range of sandwiches, salads, fruits and soups. Every day between 5 and 7 pm several warm dishes are served against favorable prices. The faculty has opened a trendy bar where students can comfortably have a seat for a drink in a nice atmosphere. In summer there is a nice terrace outside.
