'The world of work is facing important challenges, related to globalisation processes, organisational restructuring, the flexibilisation of labour markets and the emergence of new forms of employment relations. The Master in Comparative Organisation and Labour Studies equips future professionals with a thorough and multidisciplinary understanding of current developments in employment policies. The programme is internationally oriented and offers a good balance of comparative policy analysis, detailed case studies and large-scale quantitative research. The staff of COLS is involved in high-quality research and is affiliated with important research centres such as the Amsterdam Institute for Advanced Labour Studies. Students are also given the opportunity to study abroad, as part of the European Master Labour Studies Network. I think the programme provides a solid foundation for future policy analysts, HR professionals and project leaders and for those wishing to work in NGOs, journalism, think-tanks and international organisations.'
