'My name is Lindsay van Clief and I came to the UvA from Connecticut in the United States of America to do the UvA Master’s programme Gender, Sexuality and Society. I had always focused on gender, sexuality and related issues in my studies. I was excited to see a programme with strong credentials which allowed me to focus on exactly the topics I was interested in pursuing.'

'Once I arrived and got settled, I was so pleased with my choice. I met a large variety of people from all over the world and worked with professors with a wide spectrum of experience. Part of why I choose the UvA to study was the openness of the Dutch people and society. I was given the space and the freedom to dig into any topic that interest me with the support of my professors, peers and university.'

'Though I had no clear career path in mind, my passion for empowering people with information about sex and sexuality was evident and fostered. I was able to get an internship during my thesis period at Radio Netherlands where I worked for their sex education website, Love Matters. This internship blossomed into a full time job after my masters was completed and I couldn't be more grateful.'
