Studying at the University of Amsterdam

On Tuesday, 29 November, the UvA offered a webinar on studying at the University of Amsterdam for prospective Bachelor’s and Master’s students.

UvA Student Counsellor Jeanette Eindhoven discussed practical matters such as enrolment procedures, tuition fees, grants, scholarships, immigration, insurance and housing. Two current students also shared their personal experiences at the UvA. During the webinar prospective students could use the online chat function to ask questions.

Studying at the Amsterdam Law School

On Tuesday, 22 November, the Amsterdam Law School UvA offered a webinar on ‘Studying Law  on Studying at the Amsterdam Law School’. One of the lecturers presented the English-taught LLM programmes at the Amsterdam Law School and a current student shared his experiences. There was also an opportunity to chat with an admissions officer and other future students via the chat function.

Biological Sciences

On Tuesday, 1 November, the Master’s programme in Biological Sciences organised an interactive webinar. Programme director Joost Duivenvoorden provided the ins and outs of this Master’s programme, along with students from the Green Life Sciences track and the Limnology and Oceanography track who talked about their own experiences. The Ecology and Evolution track and the general biology programme were also discussed in this webinar. Admissions officers were available on chat for all your application and admissions questions.

Studying Communication Science at the UvA

On Tuesday, 23 August, the Graduate School of Communication organised a webinar for students interested in starting the Master’s programme in February or September 2017.

After a brief explanation about the various Master’s programmes in Communication Science and the application procedure, viewers had the opportunity to ask questions about deadlines, submitting documents, housing and life as a student in Amsterdam. They were also able to chat with the admissions officer, a current international student and other prospective students.

Coming to Amsterdam – Arrival procedure

On Tuesday, 2 August, the University of Amsterdam hosted an online information session for students who have already applied or are finalising their application.

In this webinar, Student Services staff member, Jasper Faber, discussed the UvA airport pick-up service for international students and the UvA Start appointment for students who have arrived in the Netherlands. The Start appointment includes collecting your student ID card and registering with the municipality. A current student was also present to share personal experiences. The online chat function was available for questions.

Coming to Amsterdam - Residence permit procedure

On 7 July, the UvA organised a webinar in which Student Services staff member, Jasper Faber, explained the procedure of applying for a residence permit for the Netherlands and discussed the documents you need. He also explained how to obtain the actual residence permit once in the Netherlands. Other topics included the UvA's airport pick-up service for international students and the UvA Start appointment for students who have arrived in the Netherlands. A current student was also present to share personal experiences.

On Tuesday, 7 June, the UvA hosted an online information session (webinar) for students who had already applied or were finalising their application. During this webinar, participants learned how to apply for an entry visa and a residence permit. The webinar also explained how to get a residence permit once in the Netherlands. Other topics include the UvA's airport pick-up service for international students and the UvA Start appointment for students who have arrived in the Netherlands.

On Tuesday, 1 December 2015, the UvA offered the webinar 'Studying at the GSSS - Practical Matters'. Admissions officer Pleun de Kort and study adviser Geertje Haverkamp discussed admissions requirements and practical matters. A current student also shared personal experiences. Students were able to use the online chat function to ask questions during the webinar.
