What courses in Law can I follow?
The Amsterdam Law School offers a variety of English-taught courses at the Master's level. As an exchange student, you can choose from courses from the following LLM programmes:
- European Private Law
- International and European Law:
- European Union Law track
- European Union Competition Law & Regulation
- International Trade & Investment Law track
- Public International Law track
- European and International Labour Law
For an overview of the courses of these LLM programmes, follow the link below to the UvA Course Catalogue and use the 'Programme' option. Under 'Teaching institute', select 'Amsterdam Graduate Law School' from the pull-down menu. Click on the programme you are interested in and under the option 'more info' you can find the link to the curriculum and course descriptions.
The workload for one semester is 30 ECTS credits.
To avoid scheduling conflicts, we advise you to choose courses within one Master's programme. If you choose courses from different Master's programmes you run the risk of conflicting classes and exams. Please consult the UvA Timetable before registering for a course.
Required introductory courses
Students who are interested to take courses in the field of EU law but without having a background in European Union Law need to take the introductory course in European Union Law. This course is offered twice a year (September and February).
Students who are interested to take courses in the field of international law but without having a background in international law need to take the introductory course in International Law, offered in September only.
