Graduate Schools and Colleges

The UvA has a large number of study (degree) programmes. This is why an extra management tier has been added between the dean and the programme, despite there being no legal obligation to do so. The name Graduate School is used for institutes which manage the Master’s programmes (and training curricula of the PhD programmes), and the name College for those institutes which are responsible for the Bachelor’s programmes. Each graduate school and college has its own director, who reports to the dean.
