Organisation
In order to ensure a smoothly functioning quality assurance cycle, it is essential that everyone within the University knows which individual is responsible at which level, and is aware which tasks and responsibilities have been allocated to which organisational layer.
In addition to clearly recording these responsibilities, all the parties involved must adhere to the system. Only then can the responsible parties be held accountable, allowing us to create a genuine culture of quality.
The UvA has opted to describe this organisational structure in the Besturingsmodel Universiteit van Amsterdam (University of Amsterdam Governance Model). In addition to recording the allocation of tasks, responsibilities and authorisations, the governance model describes the management structure governing the programmes and curricula and participation in decision-making.
