College of Humanities

The undergraduate education of the faculty is offered by the College of Humanities (COH) which is headed by the College director. Within the CoH twelve programme directors are responsible for the quality of the programmes. Together, the College director en and the programme directors form the Council of the CoH in which policy development and quality assurance takes place.

Policy development

The College of Humanities formulates strategic policy for all of the Bachelor’s programmes with the specific aim of improving the overall quality, efficiency and effectiveness. The College also promotes interdisciplinarity and effectiveness by creating education that transcends departmental boundaries, such as academic skills, interdisciplinary minors and electives. In addition, it monitors the English-taught courses and programmes, the supply and demand of internships, student exchanges, educational innovation and the exchange of good teaching practices, as well as formulates policy for student counselling.

Quality assurance

The College is tasked with planning and implementing the Teaching and Examinations Regulations (OERs) cycle. The OERs are subsequently presented by the dean to the faculty’s participation in decision-making bodies. The College develops the frameworks that contribute to the proper functioning of the Boards of Studies and the Examinations Board. Furthermore, it ensures that the regulations are consistently applied by monitoring the examination board’s decisions, and contributing (in close consultation with the heads of education) to the efficient and consistent implementation of education policy in the different study programmes.
