Dr. Kristina Krake, recently appointed lecturer in Scandinavian Studies at the Faculty of Humanities at the University of Amsterdam, has been honoured with the 2018 prize for the most outstanding PhD thesis in the field of History, awarded by the Danish Society of Labour History, The Workers Museum and the Library and Archives of the Danish Labour Movement.

The thesis, titled Scandinavia in the Age of Extremes: System Critique and the Defence of Democracy in the Interwar Period 1919-1939, deals with the evolution of the political systems in the Scandinavian countries in the interbellum. Kristina Krake obtained her PhD from the University of Southern Denmark.

Krake received the award, with a sum of 15,000 Danish crowns, on 6 October 2018 at the Workers Museum in Copenhagen.
