Science Park Open Day
On Saturday 7 October you can experience science up close at the annual Open Day of Amsterdam Science Park. Visit a mini-lecture, watch demonstrations of practical scientific research or join in workshops or guided tours.
Together with other research institutes at Amsterdam Science Park, the Faculty of Science will open its doors to the public. Go on discovery through science and visit the treasure rooms of the university.
There will be activities for all ages starting from 7 years old. Note that the lectures and tours will be in Dutch.
- Guided tours to the greenhouses, the chemistry labs, the computermuseum, the star domes, the microscopy lab and the glass factory
- Mini-lectures for children and adults, take a seat in our lecture halls like a real student
- There is a unique concert by composer Rozali Hirs. THe composer worked together with physicists and a computer scientist of the University of Amsterdam for her preliminary research.
- Demonstrations of chemistry and physics experiments, robot-person interaction, several telescopes and more
And most importantly: don't forget to ask our scientist all your burning questions!
Registration and costs
Registration is not necessary, all activities are free of charge.
