The UvA faces major challenges in the sustainable development of campuses. Participation with the 'Sustainability of the University Quarter' case study in the Clean Energy Challenge offers opportunities to utilize knowledge and experiences of designers and other creative entrepreneurs in realizing these ambitions. As a student, employee or interested person you can participate in the challenge.
What Design Can Do (WDCD) and the IKEA Foundation launched the Clean Energy Challenge in early September. In five cities - São Paulo, Delhi, Nairobi, Mexico City and Amsterdam - designers and creative entrepreneurs are challenged to find ways for the production, distribution and use of energy in urban areas. In view of the sustainability ambitions in the development of sustainable campuses, the UvA is one of the partners in the Dutch version of the Clean Energy Challenge. The UvA challenges students and staff to submit their ideas. The challenge has separate categories for students, (creative) professionals and startups.
As a kick-off for the challenge, WDCD organizes an 'Energy Jam' on 18 October; In this workshop, participants from different backgrounds are brought together to get inspiration for submitting ideas and plans for the Clean Energy Challenge.
Thursday 18 October, from 14:00 - 18:00 in the Tuinzaal, Tolhuistuin, IJpromenade 2, 1031 KT Amsterdam. Click here to register.
