The AES is a full scholarship (covering tuition and living expenses) for one academic year with the possibility of extension for a second year (for two-year Master’s programmes). The AES is highly selective: only applicants with excellent study results and motivation will be considered for the scholarship. The scholarship is funded by the University of Amsterdam. The information below applies to the 2019 - 2020 programme.
In 2014, a new prestigious scholarship programme was launched, targeting exceptionally talented Master’s students from outside Europe. The AES is a full scholarship of €25,000 (covering tuition and living expenses) for one academic year with the possibility of extension for a second year (for two-year Master’s programmes).
Are you an exceptionally talented student, from a non-EU/EEA country, do you meet the requirements and are you interested in applying for the AES-scholarship programme? Then you're welcome to apply.
Please keep in mind that you must have been accepted to our (Research) Master's programme before you are entitled to the AES. We advise you to apply for the Research Master's programme before applying for the AES. The application for the scholarship and programme are two different submissions. You need to submit your application for the programme online. The application for the scholarship has to be sent via e-mail to email@example.com.
