30 January 2015: Karel Noordzy, ‘Is Leadership About Strategy or Culture?’
The Amsterdam MBA hosted Karel Noordzy, Former CEO and Chairman of Transport and Logistics Nederland, in its Leadership Speaker Series on Friday, 30 January 2015.
What good is a three-year strategy-plan if a new iPad is introduced every six months? Organisations in the 21st century rely on talented people with the energy and creativity to update and implement new strategies. To retain that talent, leaders must be sure that their organisation restores and consistently upholds values such as a culture of integrity, a sense of purpose, and meaningfulness. But how can they accomplish that? At the Amsterdam Business School, Karel Noordzy explored not only the need for change, but also shared his own experiences along this path. Changing your leadership style is not something that can be delegated: You have to look in the mirror and work with what you see. Karel offered the audience a convenient toolkit full of insights, practical experiences and personal anecdotes that can help any leader develop a more modern style of leadership.
