7 November 2014: Rogier ‘t Hooft, ‘Transforming your company: Using the art of common sense’

The Amsterdam MBA hosted Rogier ‘t Hooft, Partner and Co-Founder of Bolster, in its Leadership Speaker Series on Friday, 7 November 2014.

Market dynamics and global economic shifts put constant pressure on companies to change. Companies’ success depends on how well their managers deal with these changes. But resistance is a powerful force, causing many change programs to fail. Have you ever effected change yourself, even at the level of a simple habit? Then you know how difficult transformation can be. In our second MBA speaker event of 2014-2015, Rogier ‘t Hooft shared his insights and experiences using the process consultation model to effect change. In contrast to the more traditional “expertise” and “doctor-patient” models, the process consultation model relies on the client’s knowledge and problem solving. Using a volunteer from the audience, Rogier demonstrated in an engaging and dynamic fashion the importance of building on the client’s own “common sense” in order to effect true transformation.
