'I love the cultural and young creative scene that is a big part of Amsterdam'
Lorin Kamperman, Business Administration: EMCI
‘I chose to do my Master’s in Business Administration at the University of Amsterdam since it is the only programme in the Netherlands that offers a track in the creative industries. I did a Bachelor’s in Cultural Studies and this combination was perfect for me. The programme has met my expectations. I liked the fact that the track courses included multiple aspects of the creative industries and that there were guest lecturers from the field who shared knowledge from practise. I liked that the track is quite small since this creates a closer bond with your fellow students.'
Studying at the Amsterdam Business School means many interesting lectures, a lot of reading, a lot of group work, international focus, and some formal courses that can feel a bit unnecessary (intro to thesis, business ethics). The UvA is located within the city itself, which means that you immediately are part of it. Besides, I love the cultural and young creative scene that is a big part of Amsterdam. New initiatives start constantly. There are great museums, festivals and things to do, which makes living and studying here a lot of fun. During the winter, I’ve been working at the press office at the Stedelijk Museum. Before I started working there, I was a marketing intern. Currently I’m about to sign a job contract at a museum in Amsterdam, where I’ll be going to work in the sponsoring and development department.’
