'My name is Maximiliano Pin and I was born and raised in Argentina. I studied the 5-year degree Licenciatura en Economía (BSc in Economics) at the University of Buenos Aires and graduated in 2007. Because I am passionate about international economics and about other cultures, I wanted to do my post graduate studies in Europe - the ancient continent. After looking into different European locations I found that the Netherlands offers a great combination of interesting aspects: an internationally oriented country, highly ranked universities and inexpensive tuition fees.
Although I was accepted both at the university of Tilburg and Amsterdam, I chose the latter. The UvA is a massive university well recognized in Economics. It offers connections to other educational institutions and students' associations, which in the end will be your network for finding a suitable job.
The university has many professors who are amongst the most experienced in their fields of research. The programme provides for great flexibility in its curriculum, as you can choose many of the courses yourself within nine different specialisations. In this sense, the MSc in Economics offers a great opportunity to deepen your knowledge.
I have almost graduated and have already received a job offer from ING Group, to start my career here in Amsterdam. This will give me a lot of opportunities in a solid multinational company and will also allow me to gain working experience in other countries and even other continents.'
