Laaken, Manon van

'Presentation Techniques' gives advice on how to present research projects in English. Manon van der Laaken is lecturer in General Linguistics.

Students following bachelor's and master's programmes are expected to be able to present their research projects - and increasingly often, this happens in English. Presentation Techniques gives advice on how to do this. It discusses how to prepare research presentations, how to organise the findings of different types of studies, and how to present tables and graphs. It gives advice on the pitfalls of presenting in an international context and on the use of body language, the voice, and visual aids. Finally, it offers expressions and idioms which can be used in a wide range of presentations.
