KIEM grant for Julia Noordegraaf
Prof. Julia Noordegraaf, director of the Amsterdam Centre for Cultural Heritage and Identity (ACHI) of the University of Amsterdam and staff member of the Amsterdam School for Heritage and Memory Studies (ASHMS), has been awarded a KIEM grant of €15,000 by the Netherlands Organisation for Scientific Research (NWO) for her project ‘Archiving Interactive Media (AIM)’.
KIEM aims to promote and facilitate partnerships between knowledge institutions and private parties, including small and medium enterprises. In this awarded project, the private partners are Data Matters, the LIMA Foundation and Digital Heritage Netherlands.
The question posed in the project is: How can interactive digital media, such as digital art, games or websites, best be conserved for the future? The partners in this research project will further build upon existing recent theory about the subject by applying this in conservation practice. The research will be carried out in 2015.
