Proefschriftprijs voor Roel Boomsma
De redactie van het Accounting, Auditing & Accountability Journal heeft de Emerald / EFMD Outstanding Doctoral Research Award 2013 toegekend aan het proefschrift van Roel Boomsma (sectie Accounting, Amsterdam Business School), getiteld: ‘The construction and operationalisation of NGO accountability: Directing Dutch governmentally funded NGOs towards quality improvement’.
Roel Boomsma won de prijs in de categorie Interdisciplinary Accounting Research. In zijn proefschrift onderzocht Roel Boomsma hoe het afleggen van verantwoording (accountability) zich heeft ontwikkeld in de relatie tussen de Nederlandse overheid en non-gouvernementele organisaties (NGO's) gericht op ontwikkelingssamenwerking. Ook bekeek hij hoe managers van NGO's de operationalisering van accountability in het meest recente Nederlandse subsidiestelsel voor ontwikkelingssamenwerking ervaren.
Met de prijs is een bedrag van € 1500,- gemoeid. Daarnaast wordt Boomsma uitgenodigd om te publiceren in het Accounting, Auditing & Accountability Journal.
