Martine van Trigt works at the Amsterdam Center for International Law (ACIL), the research center for public international law including international criminal law. Since 2008, the ACIL is a Center of Excellence of the University of Amsterdam. Her work comprises, inter alia, the management and coordination of externally funded international research projects and the organization of research events in the field of international (criminal) law. Her main expertise lies in the field of external funding, both national and European (ESF, FP7, ERC).

She obtained a Master degree in European Studies (1998) and a Master degree in Holocaust and Genocide Studies (2013, cum laude), both from the University of Amsterdam. She also works as a volunteer at the Hollandsche Schouwburg (National Holocaust Memorial), part of the Jewish Cultural Quarter.
