Onderzoek

Roland Pierik is universitair hoofddocent rechtstfilosofie aan de Faculteit der Rechtsgeleerdheid van de Universiteit van Amsterdam. Daarnaast ben ik geassocieerd lid van de filosofiefaculteit en doceer ik binnen het PPLE Bachelor programme (Politics, Psychology, Law and Economics). Ook ben ik co-director van het Paul Scholten Centre for Jurisprudence, redactielid van the Netherlands Journal of Legal Philosophy, en één van de twee promovendidecanen van de Faculteit der Rechtsgeleerdheid.

Hij is  gespecialiseerd in rechtsfilosofie en politieke theorie. In zijn onderzoek gebruikt hij hedendaagse normatieve theorieën om concrete maatschappelijke problemen te analyseren. In zijn recente werk richt hij zich vooral op mensenrechten, grondrechten, de rule of law, religieuze diversiteit, en globalisering.
