Samuel Nello-Deakin is currently pursuing a PhD on the socio-spatial dynamics of cycling environments at the University of Amsterdam as part of the NWO Smart Cycling Futures project, having previously worked at a transport consultancy in London. He has have a strong background in transport planning from a social sciences perspective, having studied Geography at the University of Cambridge and undertaken a MSc in Transport and City Planning at the Bartlett School of Planning (UCL). He takes a particular interest in walking and cycling policy from an urban liveability viewpoint, as well as in the wider links between environmental perception and transport policy.
