She is a PhD research fellow at the Research Institute of Child Development and Education since October 2016; she was awarded in June 2016 the NWO Research Talent Grant (a scholarship founded by The Netherlands Organisation for Scientific Research (NWO))

Her research interests focus on infants' emotional, social and cognitive development within the first years of life, both in typical and high-risk populations. She obtained her Bachelor's degree Pedagogy with a specialization in developmental psychology at the Univeristy of Perugia in Italy (summa cum laude), and her Research Master (MSc) in Child Development and Education at the University of Amsterdam (cum laude). During and after her studies, she gained experience by working as research assistant in various international research projects (see CV).

The project 'My-BEST' (Baby's Emotional & Social Trajectories) will be a longitudinal study she will be carrying out during the first years of her PhD. She is interested in investigating the early individual developmental trajectories of children's social and communicative functioning (e.g., theory of mind ability, emotion understanding, social non-adaptations). More info can be found at:

Beyond the PhD, her other study is an investigation into the construct of maternal mind-mindedness and its individual developmental trajectories, in collaboration with the Italian University of G. D'Annunzioni, Chieti.
