At the Amsterdam Business School, we relate to the Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME) as a guide to incorporate ethics, responsibility and sustainability into teaching, research, engagement, and operations. We also relate to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), as the blueprint to achieve a better and more sustainable future for all. The SDGs address the interconnected global challenges we face, including those related to poverty, inequality, climate change, sustainable consumption and production, peace, justice and strong institutions.
All sections within the Amsterdam Business School pay attention to topics related to ethics, responsibility and sustainability, fine-tuned and specific to their area of expertise. Examples of the broad range of topics explored at ABS include ethical leadership, moral behaviour, ethics and technology, corporate governance, stakeholder management, sustainable innovation, responsible marketing, social and environmental accounting, renewable energy, international corporate responsibility, and business and peace.
Many high-profile faculty in this focal area have worked at ABS. This is evidenced by many publications and notable outreach. In addition to disciplinary approaches, there are also many interdisciplinary research projects and publications.
Our research staff of focal area Ethics, Responsibility & Sustainability consists of full professors, associate / assistant professors, PhD students / candidates and lecturers.
