The Language Canon (‘Taalcanon’ 2012) poses the question whether one can say everything in sign language. The answer is yes, but the (grammatical) rules have not yet been completely described for Sign Language of the Netherlands (SLN). This will be the central premise of Beppie van den Bogaerde’s inaugural lecture as professor of Sign Language of the Netherlands.
