An increasing number of disorders can be determined with genome diagnostics. It is, however, also clear that environmental factors such as lifestyle, stress and nutrition can play an important part in the emergence of disease. In his inaugural lecture as professor of Genome Diagnostics, Marcel Mannens will argue that prevention is a top priority for health in the Netherlands. He will hereby discuss the mechanisms, possibilities and examples of genomics and epigenomics in relation to disease and health.
