The policy of funding bodies and universities, including the UvA, is increasingly focused on multidisciplinary partnership and collaboration with stakeholders within society. Future historians are more and more required to do their work within a team setting and with digital resources. This has consequences for the skills that an historian must have within the digital age. This will be the central premise of Charles van den Heuvel’s inaugural lecture as professor of Digital Methods in Historical Disciplines.
