Dyslexia is a serious disorder characterised by trouble reading or spelling. Within a group of poor readers (and spellers) there is a need to differentiate between dyslexics and remaining poor readers. In his inaugural lecture as professor of Educational Science, Peter de Jong will argue that more research needs to be done into the underlying processes of reading.
