In her inaugural lecture Amade M'charek proposes a shift in focus within the field of anthropology of science. Instead taking the way science influences society, or society influences science, as the object of investigation, the focus should be on the continual circulation of people, ideas, concepts, images, technologies, and rules. Such circulations are identity-producing cultural practices.
