Hyperbaric and diving medicine is not yet an officially recognised field. In his inaugural lecture, Rob van Hulst argues that it is important that be recognised as such in the future. Accredited training in this field can ensure that adequate care can be provided to both patients and staff who operate hyperbaric chambers.
