Currently cognitive behavioural therapy is the most effective and most thoroughly studied treatment for children with anxiety disorders. As around 40% of children continues to suffer anxiety disorders after treatment with CBT, there is a need to optimalise and update care for this group and provide more tailored care. This is the central argument of Lisbeth Utens's inaugural lecture.
