In her valedictory lecture Selma Leydesdorff will discuss her new book, 'Sasha Pechersky, Holocaust Hero, Sobibor Resistance Leader, and Hostage of History’, and present a copy to the Sobibor Foundation. This work brings together the core themes of her approach to oral history: the relationship between individual and collective memory, her conception of individual memories as dynamic elements of a life story and her research into the traumatic memories of survivors of extreme and/or large-scale acts of violence and natural disasters.
