In the current media landscape consumers play an increasingly active role in the creation and communication of information about products and services. Consumers can more easily share their experiences with products and services through websites, blogs, forums and social media. This is called electronic word-of-mouth or eWOM. Lotte Willemsen did research on various aspects of eWOM.
