In his PhD thesis, Jeroen van Drunen explores the Habsburg crown land of Bukovina (currently situated in Romania and the Ukraine) between 1774 and 1919. He hereby specifically focuses on the different identification processes at work within Bukovina, as well the question of what ‘Bukovinianness’ really encompassed.
